Telecommunication Networks in English Medium
Telecommunications, Computer Science and Electronics)

The Most Popular & Highly Demanded Course in Europe Now!!!

About the Course

The course "Telecommunication Networks" is focusing on technologies of
transport networks, access networks, channel and package digital
commutation, as well as various network services, related to information
transfer, storage, processing and distribution in communication networks.
Switching nodes are a basis of a modern telecommunications, enabling
information distribution in transport nets, as well as access by static and
mobile subscribers (users) to various types of services, related to data and
media (voice, sound, image, video) transfer. In the course of integration of
media and communication means, there were developed Integrated
Services Digital Networks (ISDN), Intelligent Networks (IN), Family Support
Networks (FSN). Various procedures for coding, filtration, compression and
encryption of text, voice, sound and image are used for support of
multimedia technologies in modern devices and information distribution
systems.

A modern telecommunication network is a bunch of multi-service nodes for
processing, routing and distribution of media data, which are interconnected
by high speed communication lines. This network, independently of
subscriber's location, provides modern services, such as: voice, video and
multimedia conferencing, audio and video on request, navigation within
multimedia bases upon text, voice and graphic requests, interchange of text,
voice and video messages via multimedia mailboxes. Development of
telecommunication networks opens up new opportunities in computer (IP)
telephony, telemedicine, distance learning, geoinformatics, virtual tourism,
videomonitoring. Switching nodes in modern static and mobile networks are
complex computing systems, functioning under the guidance of regional and
national network control posts. Network protocols and signal systems
provide access to various telecommunication services. Specialized net
points (gateways) enable commutation and processing of information.

The course "Telecommunication Networks" offers a specialisation in
"Communication and Information Distribution Networks". Within this degree
course, an additional study of cryptographical information protection,
code-division multiplex mobile systems, geo-communication technologies
and communication alarm systems is available.

The graduates obtain proper knowledge and skills to be implemented in
research, development, design and operation of information and
communication systems. They are highly sought after by recruiters from
communication and computer enterprises, research and development
organizations, involved in development and operation of telecommunication
networks, systems and devices.

Each year about 100 students graduate from BSUIR with a degree in
"Telecommunication Networks" and a speciality of telecommunication
engineer.

EXCELLENT ENGINEERING EDUCATION in telecommunications,
informatics, electronics!

Communication Technology

telephony, telemedicine, geoinformatics, videomonitoring.

Academic Department Overview

Specialised subjects within the course "Telecommunication Networks" are
taught at the department "Telecommunication Networks and Devices", which
is a graduating department. The academic staff of the department: 3
professors, 5 doctors, and 7 lecturers.

The department has 4 specialised laboratories:
- Documentary Services and Terminal Devices;
- Telecommunication Transport Networks;
- Information Distribution Systems;
- Mobile Communication, Processing and Protection of Multimedia
Information.

The educational multiservice network has been developed within the
department, to carry out laboratory and practical trainings, on the basis of
digital switching systems ALCATEL "Omni PCX Enterprise" and "ATE-F",
PDH digital transfer systems, switchboards Cisco 3650, 2960, 1900,
MS3810, D-Link DES-3526-24, DES-3550-24, routers Cisco 2821, 2501,

ISDN-phones Alcatel 4019, IP-phones Alcatel 4018, an IBA billing system
station, multimedia computers equipped with Web-cameras and micro
telephone sets.

On the basis of Alcatel "Omni PCX Enterprise" switching system and router
Cisco 2821 the gateways for IP-telephony have been installed, which
provide support of voice and video conferencing in a multiservice network.
The department laboratories are equipped with multimedia projectors,
measuring equipment and a plenty of PC?s. The department?s educational
