Information For International Students
Tver State Medical Academy is recognised by WHO, so it is recognised in all
countries of the world. Students from more than 50 countries study in TSMA,
mainly from Germany, Greece, Italy, Poland, India, Sri Lanka and other
countries of Africa, Asia and South American Continents. In this Academy
students can study in English Medium as well as Russian Medium.
English Medium: In English Medium, students can get admission directly in first
course where medical subjects are tought in English. The students who have
chosen English Medium do not have to study the preparatory course. They will
be admitted directly to the first course based upon the test results. The
duration of course is 5.8 years.
Russian Medium: The program is the same as that of English Medium, the only
difference being that the academic procedures are in Russia. After 8 months
Russian language course, the students will be admitted in the first course.
Although coaching is given in Russia, they will be given a chance to sit in
English Medium lectures and special training for USMLE and screening test.
Total duration is 6.6 years.
For Indian Students
Tver State Medical Academy is recognized, in accordance to law, by the
Medical and Dental Councils of India i.e. after graduating from this Academy,
candidates are eligible to work in any government or private hospital in India.
There are currently about 800 Indian students studying at the Academy, 250 of
them are girls, 60 doctors (PG students). Every year about 180 Indian students
get degrees from the Academy. Indian doctors who passed out from the Tver
State Medical Academy are successfully working in government and private
hospitals around the whole world.
Right to register and the Privilege to practice in India as per MCI Act 1956
According to the Section 13(3) of the Medical Council of India Act, 1956, the
medical qualifications granted by the medical institutions outside India, which
are included in Part II of the Third Schedule are recognized medical
qualification under Section 2(h) meaning, thereby that anyone who obtains a
medical degree from the recognized institution and completes the requisite
internship is entitled for registration with the Medical Council of India with the
consequent right for medical practice in India in accordance with Section 27 of
the Medical Council of India Act, 1956.
